Citadel to Provide HALO Sensors to Twin Rivers Unified School District

The sensors will help enhance school safety and security across the Californian district

Falls Church, VA – February 5, 2024 – Citadel today announced that it will provide HALO sensors to high schools across the Twin Rivers Unified School District, which serves nearly 25,000 students in northern Sacramento County. The sensors will be distributed across four high schools: Highlands, Foothill, Grant Union and RioLinda.

The HALO Smart Sensor 3C monitors privacy areas within facilities without the use of cameras, recorded audio or the capture of any personally identifiable information. Its features include gunshot detection, noise alerts, emergency keyword alerting and vape detection.

“Our students deserve the very best educational environment possible to prepare them for their futures,” said Ryan DiGiulio, Chief Business Official at Twin Rivers. “Implementing the sensors allows us to more holistically and effectively prioritize our students’ well-being so that they can focus on learning.”

With concern about teen vaping rising across California, the multipurpose sensors will help school districts such as Twin Rivers detect the illicit use of e-cigarettes, which contain nicotine that can harm young people’s developing brain function. The devices promote enhanced student performance by prioritizing holistic well-being, safety and security.

“Protecting schools is ultimately about cultivating the next generation of leaders,” said Jim Traficant, Citadel Founder and CEO. “We believe that partnering with the TwinRivers USD to create a safer and healthier environment for their students is a privilege that will pay dividends for the future of our young people.”

Citadel’s mission is to enhance holistic well-being through a variety of cutting-edge solutions, including the HALO sensors. The sensors will be installed in restrooms throughout the campuses, providing greater security and health safety without compromising privacy.
